The route

The car takes the main road east from the airport, through the Göcek tunnel, and follows the bay towards Fethiye. Just before the town it turns off towards the coast and runs down to the Çalış seafront.

Where the hotels are

Çalış is a long, flat strip of hotels, apartments and villas behind a pebbly sand beach, popular with British visitors, many of whom stay for weeks or own homes here. The promenade is lined with bars and restaurants, and the beach is known for its sunsets over the bay.

Tips for this transfer

A water taxi runs along the bay from Çalış to Fethiye harbour, which is a nicer way into town than the road. From the airport, a pre-booked private car is typically €40–55 and a taxi €60–80. Many apartments have no reception, so send your driver an address and phone number. More in our Fethiye guide.
