Mahmutlar is the apartment town east of Alanya, about 135 km and 140 minutes from Antalya Airport. It is popular for long stays and winter holidays, and it is one of the places where Gazipaşa airport makes a real difference.

The route

From Antalya the car follows the D400 east past Belek, Side and Manavgat, along the coast through Avsallar and Konaklı, then through Alanya and on past Oba and Kestel to Mahmutlar. Crossing Alanya is the slowest part, especially in the evening.

Where the hotels are

Mahmutlar stretches along a long pebble-and-sand beach, with apartment blocks on both sides of the D400 and a few hotels. Many apartments have no reception, so give the driver your phone number, the building name and a map pin. Kestel lies just to the west, towards Alanya.
