Beldibi: the closest corner of the Kemer coast

Beldibi is the first resort you reach on the coast road from Antalya towards Kemer: a narrow strip of hotels squeezed between steep, pine-covered mountains and a pebble beach with very clear water. It is the shortest transfer in the Kemer region, about 50 minutes from the airport, and it is quiet: most guests stay all-inclusive, and evenings are spent in the hotel or in Kemer and Antalya.

Where to stay in Beldibi

Beldibi is long and thin: the D400 coast road runs along the foot of the mountains, and the hotels sit between the road and the sea. The main questions are how close you are to the road and to the village shops, and whether you want to be nearer Göynük and Kemer.

Beach and sea

The pebble beach

Beldibi's beach is pebble from end to end, with a few patches of coarse sand. In return the water is some of the clearest on this coast: good for snorkelling straight from the shore, and the mountains rise right behind you.

The sea gets deep within a few steps, and many hotels have built piers or platforms with ladders. That suits confident swimmers but not toddlers; if you travel with small children, ask the hotel about its beach entry and whether it has a shallow area or a children's pool. Water shoes help on the pebbles.

Road and noise

The D400 coast road runs through Beldibi, close to the hotels on the land side. Rooms facing the mountain and the road can be noisier than sea-view rooms; check the hotel's layout before booking, and whether you have to cross the road to reach the beach.

Is Beldibi right for you?

It suits travellers who want a short transfer, clear water and a quiet hotel holiday. It is not the place for long sandy beaches, shallow water for small children or nightlife on the doorstep; for sand, look at Belek or Side, and compare the areas in Belek or Kemer. Things to do nearby

Beldibi cave

Above the shore is the Beldibi rock shelter, one of the oldest known human sites on this coast. Excavations from the late 1950s found stone tools and rock drawings of animals from the late Stone Age; the finds are in the Antalya Museum. On site it is a rock overhang rather than a visitor attraction, with no facilities, so ask locally about the path and access before you set off.

Göynük Canyon

A few minutes south, the Göynük Canyon is a popular half day out: a walk up the river valley, then wading and swimming through the narrow, cold gorge. Go in the morning in summer, wear shoes that can get wet and expect an entrance fee and optional equipment rental.

Kemer, Phaselis and the Tahtalı cable car

Kemer town, its marina, boat trips and the Monday market (market days) are about 10–15 minutes away. Further south you reach the ancient harbour city of Phaselis and the Tahtalı cable car, which climbs to over 2,300 m. Everything is covered in our Kemer guide and on the day trips page.

Antalya city

Beldibi is the Kemer-area resort closest to Antalya. Kaleiçi, the old town with its harbour, and the Antalya Museum (where the Beldibi cave finds are displayed) are about 40 minutes away by car, longer in rush hour. See the Antalya city guide.

Eating out and evenings

Most of Beldibi is made up of all-inclusive hotels, and that shapes the evenings: the village has a handful of restaurants, cafés, small supermarkets and pharmacies along the main road, but no real promenade or nightlife. Many guests never leave the hotel in the evening.

If you want more choice, Kemer town has restaurants, bars and clubs around the marina, about 10–15 minutes away by taxi or dolmuş. Read our all-inclusive guide if you are weighing half board against all-inclusive, and the food guide for what to order outside the hotel.

Getting there and around

Antalya Airport is about 45 km and 50 minutes away, the shortest transfer on the Kemer coast; most of the time is spent getting around the city. The road then runs between cliffs and the sea and through tunnels before reaching Beldibi. See the Antalya Airport to Beldibi transfer guide and all routes under airport transfers.

Dolmuş minibuses between Antalya and Kemer stop along the main road in Beldibi, so you can reach Kemer town, Göynük and Antalya without a car. A hire car is useful for Phaselis, the cable car and Olympos on your own schedule; see getting around. Undecided between regions? Read Side or Kemer and Kemer or Alanya.

When to go

The beach season runs from May to October. July and August are hot and the hotels are full; June and September bring warm water with fewer people. Because the mountains rise straight behind the coast, the sun disappears behind them earlier in the afternoon than in the flat resorts east of Antalya. Spring and autumn suit walks and the canyon. In winter most hotels close. See weather by month and the holiday budget calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Is Beldibi part of Kemer?

Yes. Beldibi belongs to the Kemer district and hotels there are often sold as Kemer, but it is about 10–15 minutes before Kemer town, on the Antalya side.

How far is Beldibi from Antalya Airport?

About 45 km, roughly 50 minutes in normal traffic. It is the closest part of the Kemer coast to the airport; weekday rush hour in Antalya can add 20 minutes or more.

Does Beldibi have a sandy beach?

No. The beach is pebble with a few patches of coarse sand, and the water gets deep quickly. The upside is very clear water. Bring water shoes.

Is Beldibi good for families with small children?

It can work if the hotel has a shallow area or a good children's pool, but the quick drop-off makes it less suited to toddlers than the sandy beaches of Belek, Lara or Side.

Is there anything to do in Beldibi in the evening?

Not much. A few restaurants and cafés line the main road, but most guests stay in their all-inclusive hotel. For bars and nightlife, go to Kemer marina, 10–15 minutes away.
