Antalya city centre and the old town of Kaleiçi are only 14 km from the airport, about 25 minutes by car. It is the one destination on the coast where public transport is a realistic alternative to a taxi or transfer.

The route
The airport sits on the eastern edge of the city. The car follows the main boulevards west into the centre, past the Doğu Garajı area towards Hadrian's Gate and the harbour. There is also a tram line from the airport to the city, and city buses connect the terminals with the centre.
Where the hotels are
Kaleiçi is a maze of narrow, partly car-free lanes inside the old walls. Cars usually stop at the gate area, at Hadrian's Gate, the clock tower or the upper harbour road, and you walk the last few minutes with your luggage. Hotels in the newer centre and along the cliffs towards Lara are reached directly.
Tips for this transfer
Ask your guesthouse in Kaleiçi where the nearest drop-off point is; some will send someone to help with bags. Taxis from the official rank run on the meter, so a typical fare stays within a narrow range. The tram is cheap but slower and needs a transport card, which is awkward after a late flight. Frequently asked questions
How far is Antalya city centre from the airport?
About 14 km, roughly 25 minutes by car outside rush hour. The tram and city buses take longer but cost much less.
Can a taxi drive right up to my hotel in Kaleiçi?
Often not. Many lanes in the old town are too narrow or closed to traffic, so taxis stop at the gate area or on the harbour road. Expect a short walk with your luggage.
Is there a tram from Antalya Airport to the city?
Yes, a tram line links the airport with the city, and city buses run from the terminals too. They are the cheapest option if you travel light and are not in a hurry.
